History

AREND Industrial Consultancy is established in 1995 by Cem ERGUN, with the background and accumulated experience in industry, research and development areas, to provide consultancy to manufacturing and service companies for the development and guidance of their business management systems.

The progress into new fields of international marketing and business with focus on Turkish manufactures who would become prime contractors of the US Gov. Department of Defense (DoD) and the NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency (NAMSA) have led to incorporation in 1997. AREND received the NATO Secret Clearance, became a Trading Partner of the US DoD and started to assist its clients for Central Contractor Registration, Trading Partner Survey and Source Qualification.

Continuing efforts to make EC/EDI services available to its clients and concurred also by a the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, AREND signed a License Agreement with the Government of the United States of America to start the process for becoming an EDI VAN Provider.

AREND took part as well in the activities for the NATO Continuous Acquisition and Life Cycle Support (CALS), participated to the Mediterranean CALS Conference also in 1997. Served for the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Maritime Trade and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and took part in sub-committees for Quality, Small and Medium size Enterprises and Information Technologies of CALS Industry Steering Group.

Upon cooperation with Advanced Communication Systems (ACS) in North Olmsted Ohio, USA for their enabling technologies and through their guidance and support, AREND obtained DoD certification in late 1998. The aim is to develop this collaboration and offer consultancy and network services for Business to Business (B2B) Electronic Commerce in Turkey, Europe and Middle East.

Based on the existing strength for extending the enterprises, and with the addition of new expertise areas, AREND is enhancing the offerings through focusing on core strategic technologies in its Information Technologies Business.
